Necessity is the Mother of Invention

Necessity - it's a need, something essential, a prerequisite, requirement.

It's also the mother of invention.

In my opinion, it's simple. A necessity is something that urges people to find a way to suffice their needs to live a more comfortable life. It's a well know fact that everything we need is not provided by nature thus, we find ways to satiate our needs by inventing. Necessity is why we have the things that we have now and why life presently is easier than life in the old days. The necessity of keeping track of records is what led to writing and the necessity of communicating with one another is what led to the development of language. The way I see it, necessity, invention's mother, is what's going to lead the further progress of humanity.

How The Earth Began (In my opinion...)

They say that the Earth is the stage where the world's history takes place. Through the years, there have been numerous theories put out by scientists on how this stage began. So here's the deal: scientists have basis for all their theories - but that's them, scientists with lots of research and experience in their field. I look at things in a different way - through the eyes of an imaginative highschool Junior. In my own so-called "theory", I believe that the Earth started inside a huge ball of molten and dense materials floating in space. It then collided with another heavy mass in space and the ball's outer layer shattered. Inside the ball revealed the Earth.

What I Expect to Learn in World History

Among all the past history classes I've taken, World History is the broadest. This year, I expect to learn why the world is how it is. Hopefully studying this will prepare me to live in the real world. I hope to learn the roles I will be playing as a global citizen, the cultural literacy of the different cultures, and learn more about who we are not only as individuals but as members of different races, religions and groups. I believe that if I am able to learn this I will have a better understanding and appreciation of how special humans are and how much has changed through the course of time.
